HOW TO PLAY BINGO
A question : How to play bingo ? Bingo is a gambling game
that’s quite popular in the UK. A bingo card is composed of
nine columns and three rows. Not every square is numbered, however
in the rows you will find five numbers and four blank squares. The
columns may contain three numbers up and down but rarely. The numbers
one through nine is found in the first column. Then ten to nineteen
for the next column and so on for each column until the last one,
which will have numbers from eighty to ninety.
The caller heads up the games. This person is the one who controls
the tempo. He’ll begin the games by letting everyone know
what the prizes are. Then when the game is about to begin, the caller
will call out “eyes down”. This phrase is an indicator
to everyone that he’s about to begin calling out the numbers.
The numbers can be selected by picking counters from a sack to using
a mechanical machine or the most sophisticated of all, using an
electronic number generator. As the numbers come up, the caller
will call the numbers out to the players who in turn mark off the
matching number on their tickets if they have any. This can be done
by placing round chips or buttons on top of the squares or using
a marker called a “dabber” to mark off the number in
the square.
There are different winning combinations. The first is the Line,
which is a horizontal line of five numbers on the card. Next are
Two Lines, this covers two lines and lastly another one called Full
House which covers all of the numbered squares on the card. The
caller will announce the type of bingo being played at the start
of each game so the players know whether they’re going for
just a line or more.
Depending on the type of Bingo being played, when the player gets
all of the required spaces marked off, they call out “bingo”.
Doing this stops the game for a checker to come and verify that
you do indeed have all of the right winning numbers. This is done
by manually calling off the numbers and comparing to the ones that
have already been called in the smaller bingo halls. Other, large
clubs will utilize an automatic validating system that reads off
the security code from the ticket and checked against the entry
in the system.
Keep in mind that one has to pay attention to the numbers being
called and call out “bingo” before the caller moves
on to the next number for once he does that, your bingo is invalid
until the next turn.
