BINGO RULES
In the UK, just about everyone has played bingo at some time or
another in their lives. It’s an extremely popular game in
Britain and families tend to enjoy this as an activity for everyone
to get together over. Not only do families play this game, it’s
also played in bingo halls, social clubs all over Britain. It’s
also a favorite game for fundraisers. Now there’s Bingo online.
This form is catching on very quickly with many of the people.
The rules are quite simple. So simple that even small children can
master it. The simplicity of the game is probably what makes this
such a favorite among so many people. It’s simple, yet fun
and the winning gives such a thrill. The cards typically have twenty
four or twenty six squares with numbers from one to ninety in some
or all of the squares. Many players will play several cards at the
same time to increase their chances of winning. Of course by doing
this, the person will need to pay good attention to the caller as
they call off the numbers. A caller is the person who will read
out the numbers to the players. The quicker they call out the numbers,
the faster the game will move. This presents the players with more
of a challenge to pay attention. As the numbers are called off,
players cross out the ones that they have on their cards. The main
objective is to be the first one to make a straight line, either
vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Another version of winning
is to be the first to fill all the blank squares on a card. Once
this is accomplished, the player will yell out “Bingo”
or “House” to stop the game. Once the card has been
verified that all the numbers do indeed match the ones that have
been called, that person is declared the winner. Sometimes there
is more than one winner. When this happens, the prize is simply
split amongst all of the winners.
There are variations to the numbers being called. Instead of the
normal one, two, three. The numbers have number rhymes that are
used instead. For example, one would be “Kelly’s eye”,
two would be “Little boy blue” and three is “cup
of tea”. Calling the numbers out this way definitely presents
more of a challenge as the players have to know what numbers these
rhymes match up with.
